We officially began our family vacation yesterday. We arrived in St. Pete last night and are getting settled in for a week of relaxation. This morning we took the kids to breakfast at the always good Frog Pond (a must for any visitors to the St. Pete area) and then we hit the grocery. Actually, the grocery is one of my favorite things on vacation. I get that from my dad.
Nick and Ali got a head start on the pool because that is all Ali could talk about. I was pushing them out the door so I didn't have to hear "Can we go swimming!?" one more time. When Brock and I got down there, we set up the baby pool and dumped a basket of toys in. Two little kids (later I found out were 5 and 3) were eyeing the toys and I told them they were welcome to swim with Brock and Ali. So, all four kids were sitting in the pool playing. I had noticed the family had an accent and were not from the United States. All of a sudden I hear the little boy ask Ali what country she was from. I was intrigued how this would turn out and she answered "I'm from Greenwood!" We may need to work on her geography! The little boy proceeded to explain that he was from England and I spent the next several minutes loving their little accents. They were so cute!!!
We ate dinner ocean side at Woody's and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. There was a balloon maker and he made Ali a Little Mermaid balloon. She was so excited! He made Brock a fishing pole, but Brock was very interested in having a balloon on his head. We are looking forward to the rest of the family joining us the next couple days. More updates to come...
