We had fun celebrating my mom's 50th birthday last weekend. Okay, so she's not exactly 50, but she would kill me if I disclosed her exact age. So, I subtracted a few years off and then rounded down...a couple times. :) My mom hates the saying "You look great for your age"...she's pretty sure whoever says that is trying to find a nice way to say "Wow, you are really getting old!" Well Mom, you do look great for your age and consider yourself a fine wine...you get better with age.
I asked my Mom what Kelli and I could make for her birthday dessert and she wanted a Sam's Club cake...go figure. Evidentally, the buttercream frosting beats Kelli and my cooking skills
As a quick disclaimer, my mom LOVES Pat Riley. There are a small few of celebrities that my mom says "If he would show up at my door...I wouldn't even pack!" Pat Riley is one of those!

Rarely do our kiddos get the Sponsel aunts and uncles to themselves. They absolutely love the group and we enjoyed spending some time with them!
