When I started this blog, I wanted to capture the memorable moments within our family. Often times when you think of "memorable moments," it's family vacations, birthdays, holidays, etc. However, there are often moments in the day to day activities where something happens and I think to myself, "I hope I never forget this." So, I realized long or short, I need to start blogging these little events. Something happened yesterday that triggered this...
Brock (and Nick for that matter) were napping so Ali and I went out shopping. I needed to run to Target and I had promised Ali all weekend that we could stop by her cousin Maddi's house to drop off a booklet she colored for her. We ran by TJ and Kelli's and then off to Target. I love just spending time with Ali and I'm really learning that she enjoys the one on one time, too. We walked hand in hand into Target and she said, "just us today, Mommy." I let her get a cookie (they give free ones out to kids in the bakery) and she was perfect as we went through the store. I told everything we needed and she yelled "check" after each item. We were being silly as we left and she wanted me to go super fast so I ran with the cart and then hopped on so we were rolling through the parking lot (yes, I know I'm 32 years old and a little old for that). She thought it was so funny. We rushed into the car because it was cold. She was laughing when I got in and she sighed really big and said, "Mommy, you make me Sparkle!" I think all of us would agree that it's nice to receive a compliment, but this one may top my list. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, but I will definitely treasure it. I know I'm biased, but she's a pretty sweet little girl and I love watching her grow up!
