Say What?!

I'm often amazed at the things that come out of the mouth of my 4 year old. I thought some of these were worth sharing...

Ali is already talking about what she wants to be next Halloween.  Rapunzel from the movie Tangled seems to be the leading candidate.  In planning for the big event (yes, a year early) she had this to say, "I need to go see Braden (her friend) and ask him if he wants to be my man, Flynn Ryder, for Halloween."

Ali has been excited for Happy Feet Two to come out, and she talks about seeing it every time the preview comes on tv.  We were talking about our upcoming trip to Morton for Thanksgiving and I told her maybe Grandpa would take her to see Happy Feet Two.  Her response...."Grandpa?  Grandpa who?  Oh, you mean the Grandpa that lives at Grammy's house?"  Sorry Dad Hopkins, if you ever thought the house was yours, too...you were sorely mistaken. It all belongs to Grammy.

Perhaps my favorite Ali-ism lately was when we were talking about the movie Pocahontas. Yes, our daughter is a slight Disney Princess addict. Ali had not seen Pocahontas, but she has read about the story in her books. She knows many of the characters and I was asking her to name them. I asked about Grandmother Willow, the talking tree and she didn't know who that was.  After she watched the movie, the following dialogue took place,

Ali:  "Mommy, you were right, the talking tree in Pocahontas is Grandmother Willow!"
Mommy"  "Thank you, Ali"
Ali:  "Don't say thank you.   I didn't say I was proud of you.  I just said that you were right"

Stay tuned in for continued coverage of the commentary of Allison Hopkins...
