"I'll Take the Consequence"

Yesterday was a rare day for Ali. She was out of sorts and just difficult all day. She snapped at me a handful of times and I felt like we had jumped into teenage years.  We started soccer practice and preschool this week and last night she resumed gymnastics.  I think it was a bit much to squeeze into back to back days.  Her gymnastics teacher had to bring her over last night because she was not participating in class. Ali proceeded to explain that she doesn't like gymnastics anymore.  I told her she had a choice, she could participate with her class like a big girl or there would be a consequence.  Her reply (and this is no joke) was "I'll take the consequence!"

After getting over the initial shock, I explained that the consequence was a spanking from her dad.  She said "I'll go back to class."  This whole situation has me a bit frightened for the preteen days...
