It was such a nice weekend. We had a family dinner on Friday night and spent some time with Keith, Amber and kids before they headed to Indy for a birthday party on Saturday (ironic, I know...we go there, they come here). On Saturday, the kids got some quality Grammy and Grandpa time. Mom H and I took the kids out for a little shopping and lunch. We capped off the morning with a trip to Safety Park, which is a bike park for kids. It's very neat, there are real stoplights, traffic signs, and a bridge with official on/off ramps. Ali was a little nervous on the hills/ramps, but she had fun. We took Brock a little ride on toy and her preffered to push it around the place. When we got home, Grandpa and Ali went out fishing. Ali got a fishing pole for Christmas and has been very excited to use it. My wonderful father-in-law quickly learned why God did not give him girls. He said Ali talked the ENTIRE hour and half they were gone. However, Grandpa reported that she was a trooper and the fish and worms didn't bother her. She actually caught 3 fish. We finished the night with dinner with Jeff and Catherine and the kiddos. Ali came up to me at 9:00pm and requested to go to bed. I think the day wore her out.
We were driving with Mom H on Saturday and we were talking about Ali coming over in the summer and spending a weekend with everyone. When I asked her if she would like that and about two minutes later she said "But Mommy, I don't know how to drive there!" What cracked me up is that she was really processing how she would get to Morton if we didn't go. Way too cute! We are very blessed to have such a great family and we love getting to spend time with everyone. It's always a little hectic, but there is always a lot of love to go along with it.
Here's a lookback on our weekend...
