The Amazing Race

After Ali was born, Nick and I started a monthly date night tradition. We alternate who plans each month and hit the town for some much needed adult time. I call it an investment in our marriage. Well the investment paid off last weekend, Nick and I competed in the Amazing Race sponsored by Stones Crossing Church and came out victorious.

The event included 20 stops throughout the southside and downtown Indy.  Here's a replay of the night:

Greenwood City Pool-Nick had to retrieve sticks from the bottom of the diving well.  He opted to go down to the boxers so he didn't have to wear wet clothes all night. Needless to say, several children got a shot of some bird legs in boxers.
Woodland Park-Back to Back stops that had us digging in sand for rings and fishing plastic fish out of a bucket with small plastic fishing pole.
Just Wing In It-Had to sing karaoke to any song and Nick busted out "Mary Had A Little Lamb"
Hal's Vegas Grill-Had to count $200 in fake money using every currency available...Hello, we are accountants here...
Ella's Frozen Yogurt
Perry Meridian High School
Melting Pot-Had to eat some chocolate covered fruit...torturous I know.
Five Start Dance Studio-We had to learn a basic dance step. Nick was not very happy with our instructor I believe at one point she said "You're getting it" and Nick sternly replied "I'm going to get you in a minute!" I laughed at his precious sarcasm, but I don't think she found it as humorous
Incredible Pizza Company-Imagine grown adults running around a kid's indoor fun zone trying to answer random questions about the facility. Lucky for us, the go kart guys helped us out.
Teddy's Burgers
Floortech
Iria's-Italian eatry downtown where we had eat pasta "Lady and the Tramp" style
Conseco Fieldhouse
Jillian's
White River Canal-3 Stops-One where Nick had to "propose," which was actually at the spot Nick did propose to me on a very cold Christmastime night in 2002. Another where we renewed our vows. I would like to say it was very sweet, but Nick was looking for the next clue the whole time. :)
Little Caeser Pizza-We had to sell a pizza to a stranger
Center Grove Middle School North-The Finish Line

We ran the race neck and neck with another couple the whole time and had a blast.  We also ran the race with some great friends and look forward to defending our title next year.  Three of the five of us couples walked away with prizes and my brother owes $75 to the State of Indiana for illegally
parking at one of the stops. For a little sister who got beat up more than once...sweet justice!
